How To Find What's True Part 4
In part four of how to find truth in information (How To Discover Truth In Information Part 4), we look at those situations when people insist that other people are wrong. As we've discussed throughout this series, in some cases, people will come to different conclusions than we do and they may be correct! If they are not, I can assure you that experience teaches best. Where is the Soviet Union? No amount of knowledge would have prevented the Russian people from making their mistakes in the 20th century and experience taught them better than any class.
If the information serves a purpose, is measured and compared accurately, doesn't appeal to our emotions, and considers the possibility that it may be wrong, we may want to consider it. Otherwise, we should be skeptical. Most of what we see hear and read may not qualify. In these cases, it's best to ignore the information or consider why it's received so much attention, if it has.
As we see in the inflation examples, sometimes we see different information from data sources. All of these data sources may be correct, even though they look different. How something is measured matters and never forget that we all don't know more than we know and there are zero exceptions to this.

Any video after part four of how to find truth in information shows an applied example of discovering the truth.
Data can help you in your discover of truth. In my course, Automating ETL, I teach students how they can obtain data and ensure it's as accurate as possible from the data source. This doesn't guarantee that they found the truth. It may help in the discovery of truth, but no amount of data will help someone overcome their own bias in the discovery of truth.
If you're a business and you're concerned about data accuracy in your business along with what you may be overlooking, I suggest you get in touch with our firm (see YouTube channel). There are a huge number of shifts happening and the people who are early to these shifts will have the most to gain.
