How to actually make America great again.
I have a colleague who’s smart, talented, deeply kind, and just the most unflappable person you’ve ever met. He’s also a first generation immigrant.
His speciality is (currently) validating RTL designs. (RTL is a technology for designing very very fast digital circuits. Among many other uses, it’s used to manage the fire hose of data that is the result of various molecular biology analytics). He has a teenage son who’s interested in learning RTL development.
I’m going to put together a full RTL development system and give them that system and a couple of beginner-ish FPGA cards to implement their designs on. (Our employer is graciously covering the cost of the hardware)
Will this young man become a biotech engineer? Who know… but he’s curious about how the world around him works, and how to shape it. Regardless of where their parents were born, smart, curious kids will shape the future.
This is how you make America great again.
