Poloniex refuses Stellar Lumens airdrop distribution
In their airdrop announcement at March 28, 2017 the Stellar foundation announced that Poloniex will participate in the airdrop of 16 billion Stellar Lumens on June 27, 2017:

Today on june 27, 2017, one day after the snapshot was taken, Poloniex announced, they are not participating in the airdrop and will not distribute the lumens:

So everyone holding Bitcoin on Poloniex got screwed by the exchange...
I am wondering: Will they just keep the lumens for themselves? Why are they doing this? Do they want to further damage their reputation?
I hope the Stellar foundation can figure out a solution for this messy situation.
Update:
I contacted the Stellar foundation and they told me, they reached out to Poloniex and hope to have an answer and a resolution today. So it seems at least they are trying so resolve this...
Who is to blame here? Poloniex or Stellar?
Both parties. Stellar published it on their site saying Poloniex agreed and then also Poloniex for not making any news as of late (nor responding to questions about it).
Will be interesting if Poloniex claim it and keep it for themselves. That would be the real low act...
This was announced several months ago and I bet Poloniex was well aware of it. Many users opened tickets at Poloniex asking if they will receive the airdrop for lend out coins. So Poloniex at least should have clearified this before the snapshot was taken...
I think Poloneix is quite overloaded already and they don't have enough manpower. I am guessing distributing stellar to all its BTC holders will be quite a big task for them. I can understand why Poloneix is apprehensive of doing this. But they should have not agreed to participate in the airdrop previously
Followed!Pure scam, why would they do that? They are going to loose almost all of their customers. Greedy
Poloniex has gained notoriety for things like this. I have moved my coins from Poloniex. I don't want any problem at all
Indeed, they are not sending very good signals lately...
Poloniex duped a friend of mine and since then I have advised myself. I don't do any trade there again
I've been hearing a lot of bad things about Poloniex lately.
That's why I can't understand them pulling this off now... their reputation already suffered. Maybe that's why they don't care anymore...

oh... crap :)
Poloniex is losing their credibility a lot with these kind of spunky do's. Hope they will understand these.
The same lending approach also works on bitfinex.
