The Gurita's Ship 🚢 Sinking Monument

Hello steemians. I Would like to tell you about history of sinking ship 🚢 .

January 19, 1996, Friday night, at 8:30 pm is a very tragic event. The ship, whose capacity is only for about 210 people, has 378 people drowning and only 40 passengers survived.

Of the 378 passengers, 40 were rescued, 54 were found dead and 284 were declared missing along with an Octopus KMP that was unsuccessful to lift from the seabed.

According to the data, there are 282 residents of Sabang, 200 residents outside Sabang, and 16 foreign nationals, and this is exacerbated by cargo of 50 tons, covering 10 tons of cement, 8 tons of fuel, 15 tons of electric concrete piles, food needs of the community of Sabang and 12 four-wheeled vehicles and 16 wheels two.

For the people of Aceh, it is difficult to forget the disaster that occurred on January 19, 1996. The daily boat that serves the Banda Aceh-Sabang route when sailing in Ujungsueke waters, Balohan, Sabang, was hit by waves and strong winds. As a result, on the eve of Ramadan (28 Syakban 1426 H), the Octopus ship sank to the seabed at a depth of 385 meters.
