Introducing STEEMZINE – The First Steemit Zine
We are a team of friends, fellow writers who have decided to come together to contribute to Steemit with our very own Zine.
Instead of having individual accounts, we decided that we would collate all our works in one place. This way you will know where to go to find some (hopefully) interesting posts on a wide variety of topics.
We are a bunch of filthy animals who write for a living for a number of different publications across our own disciplines. Having met each other along our respective paths, we often meet monthly to discuss and whinge about the world.
It is our plan on being a little controversial in some of our posts and due to the fact that some of us hold down “serious” writing/journo jobs at the moment.
We have decided to go incognito for the purpose of freedom of speech. Yes, being a journalist (on the payroll) you sometimes have to bow down to the powers to be and compromise yourself. That is a post for another time which I am sure we will cover. For now here is the team behind STEEMZINE
The Crack Fox AKA Dylan
Dylan, our cheeky little crack fox has a keen interest on all things tech. He has been writing in a freelance capacity for about 5 years now. He plans on bringing a fresh perspective on all things Steemit and Technology. Along with presenting the latest updates and opinions on where things are heading.
The Phoenix AKA Mandy
She packs a punch and is the poster child of hope. Mandy is self-proclaimed optimist and tea addict. Mandy has a background in psychology and a keen interest in human behaviour. She plans on providing you with content that will push the walls of your skull in every possible direction. Prepare to have your mind blown!
The Surgeon General AKA Rob
Rob is the generalist who cuts through a story with precision, a full time superstar journo. Rob loves to write just about anything and everything, his views are somewhat questionable “You mean…Right”… he is saying in my ear. Without question he has a stack of experience across so many different subjects, his pieces are generally eye opening and thought provoking. He plans on writing on anything that takes his fancy. This kind of excites us.
The Candyman AKA Mal
Mal wants you to know he didn’t pick his name. The team did. Mal is the go to freelance blogger, who is constantly in demand due to the way he brings a unique sense of humour to an article. If you could bottle it and sell it, you’d be a wealthy individual. Mal plans on bringing a little bit of social commentary to you, along with some more serious stories. One thing you can count on is any post he makes will be laced with humour.
As someone who struggles to write blog posts I wish you all success. Look forward to reading (and Upvoting ) your posts.
@stephen-somers thank you for your well wishes. I hope you enjoy what we produce.
As for your writing, practice, practice and practice. The more you write the easier it gets.
Thanks for the encouragement
pleasure!
Sounds great, welcome on board. I'm starting to do some curation around #longform writing so I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. And if you, or anyone else, has suggestions for posts I should check out, let me know.
Great, well we use your suggested hashtag moving forward
Sweet.
Followed.
Thanks @flandude !

thank you @ladypenelope1 look out for the first post very shortly! hope you enjoy!
What a fun collaboration. Is it entirely on Steem, or will you also have an outside website? Sounds like a great side job for you all!
It is entirely on Steem @professorx you can read our first post here https://steemit.com/steemzine/@steemzine/steemzine-1-the-greatest-money-factory-the-world-has-ever-seen-manufacturing-and-selling-positivity - we are open to feedback as to the format people would ideally like to see, so if you have any thoughts please share. However, we got started with a nice long post!
A Steemit zine! Awesome. I'm involved with an old print zine from the 90s called Illicit Underground, which these days is a news aggregator page on Facebook. The staff is looking into having an IU Steemit page, but this is pretty awesome that all of you are doing a Steemit exclusive zine.
Of course, you'll have to start a Facebook page for it now. ;-)
I've checked out a few of your posts already, and I look forward to more!
