Steemvoter temporary service interruption for planned maintenance
UPDATE: And we are back up! The maintenance went smoothly and was completed ahead of schedule. All Steemvoter services are fully operational again and your voting rules should be enabled. As usual, please get in touch with us on Steemit Chat in the steemvoter.com channel if you notice any issues.
Original service announcement follows:
We are doing some planned maintenance today to move our back-end database to a new server. It's expected to take about 12 hours to complete (lots of intricate steps involved). During this time, our voting scripts will be turned off, so don't panic if you notice that your voting rules aren't working. We will update this post throughout the day and let you guys know when service is back up.
Note that the web site will remain fully operational. You can still log in, create new accounts, edit rules, etc. However please try to keep such activity to a minimum until we give the all-clear. Although we have developed a plan that allows the database to be moved without requiring the web site to be brought down, it is possible that any changes you make to your account in the final few minutes of the move will not get persisted to the new database (meaning your changes could effectively be rolled back).
This is a major step forward in the ongoing overall site migration to a new web host. We thank all of you for your patience and understanding as we get our house in order. These changes are behind-the-scenes and won't affect the end user experience, but they are important both in terms of bringing enhanced system stability as well as putting us on a solid foundation to start building out more user facing features for you all to enjoy.
