RE: Steemvoter Week In Review for May 13 - 20

This is really a great project to help promote good authors and also newbies.
But, I sometimes think that if whales want then they can take advantage of this very easily and thus leaving behind others.
A whale can nominate someone who they like and vote on their nomination self making the comment with highest value nomination!!!
It has happened and will continue to happen for sure, that's why I think the nomination should be based on number of curators not the value.
Anyway, that's just my honest opinion, I didn't mean to hurt or disrupt the system.

Thanks for the feedback. We are always open to discussion on ways to improve the service. If we picked the winning nomination based just on number of votes, then it would be possible for someone to easily manipulate the picks if they control several small accounts. Especially given that there are lots of nominations that only receive 1 or 2 votes. Also we want to encourage people to invest in the platform and increase their Steem Power so they have bigger influence.

But your point about whales being able to abuse the system is valid. So there are drawbacks to each method. However, so far we haven't had many problems with whales voting. They act responsibly for the most part. If this becomes a problem we will look at revising the rules. It might be a good idea to forbid self-voting on nominations that you submit; we'll think about this.

I appreciate! both methods have drawbacks, Indeed there are several curation trials which can take advantage if the nomination is based on numbers!
I also appreciate forbidding self-voting on nomination, then again it's also not fully perfect as whale can vote instead of nominating. I agree that whales take responsibility on the most part, but it feels so bad when some 10 others are submitting post whose comment value is worth 0.02 sbd and there happens to be some/or one nomination whose comment value is 2.31 sbd, haha, you can see this in this edition nomination :P
Anyway, I really really appreciate this project, this is much useful and also much productive. I just want that good and admirable authors should be promoted. May be there should be judges from within to accept the nomination rather than comment value, or may be there should be something else... but then again, it would bring very different scenario.

I am sorry if I have caused inconvenience. I am just pointing my opinions.
Thank you!
