So Thursday has come and gone and the challenge has been issued. It is a tough one this time, but then again it would not be a challenge if it were easy.

Today's Random Question:
If you were to create a holiday, what would it be called, how would we celebrate it and when would this holiday be?

Question Thoughts

Oh so so many ways to have gone with this question. I could have gone in the vein of how hollywood has when it comes to "New Holiday's" and chosen something to do with individual death and destruction toward each other, but that has been overdone ever since the movie *Death Race 2000" Their hollywood's idea of New Holidays only affect a small number of people and other than the majority just watching not actively participating all of them kind of useless holidays in my mind.

So a Holiday everyone no matter where, would have to participate. Of course this Holiday would be a world wide event holiday, and it would be run by that ever oppressive regime the UN, (United Nations). They would enforce and make it mandatory for participation or else after the 3 day Holiday event the non-participatory countries would be made to live with the consequences of not participating voluntarily. So on with the Holiday.

The Holiday - - WEMP - - -

The Holiday would be WEMP - yes WEMP pronounced wimp. World Electromagnetic Pulse day. All power would be banned for three days. No generators on panes, trains, automobiles, no electrical power of any nature. Of course locations that still have coal fired trains would run, however anything electrical on them would not work. No power to anyone anywhere in the world. Of course this would mean thousands of deaths every year during this three day event.

No hospitals would have power. No jails would have power. No police station would have power. No government would have power. No computer would have power. No nuclear sub or power station would have power. There would be no power at all anywhere.

This Holiday would be to show/remind people of the power of and the death and destruction of War. Especially Nuclear War. (see the picture kind of goes with the Holiday).

Celebrating - - WEMP Days - -

How would the Holiday be celebrated. Sail boating, let people re-learn the art of living without electrical power. Sail boat races, row boat races, soap box derby races, and outdoor cooking. It would be celebrated by people coming together to talk to share to think together, and to contemplate on how hard life is without the power. This would firmly establish in the hearts, minds and souls of people what could happen if there ever were a World wide Nuclear War. Day three of the Holiday would be used to mourn the loss of those that died during the Holiday due to no power. A wake up call to the realities of Nuclear War.

When is the Holiday?

The Holiday would run from July 1st through July 3rd. July 1st being chosen because it was the day of testing at Bikini Atoll. This would serve as a reminder of thoses days events and repercussion over the course of 50 plus years.

I know not a very pleasant sounding Holiday, especially around this particular Holiday approaching. But we all, all the world need to rethink Nuclear Bombs and we need to understand the consequences of our potential actions.
