SteemUSA Photo Challenge | Long Billed Dowitcher
We recently camped at Curry Hammock State Park. It is a beautiful park midway south on the Florida Keys.
Curry Hammock State Park is along the flight path for the many birds who migrate from North America to South America. While we were at the park we were able to see quite a variety of birds. These birds captured in this picture are members of the Sandpiper Family. Called the Longbilled Dowitcher, they were fun to photograph. These birds breed in the far north of America but migrate south to South America! Quite a traveler wouldn’t you say?
Can you tell me, are they looking forward or backward?
Were they possibly whispering a secret to and fro? We’ll never know!

Such a cute little family you captured there. @dandays and I sit on the beach and trip out on the birds all the time. They are such peculiar little creatures… those birds kind of look like the sand crab hunters we watch often. :)
