Percy's Tavern on Avenue A and 13th Street in the East Village NYC has some cool artwork on its shutters which I suspect were someones interpretation of the Bar and the city,

Percys was described as a Festive Bar with Live Music that served traditional Irish pub food plus American and European ford and snacks.
A few years Back I did pop into Percys one evening one w eek night and had a couple of beers, seemed alike it was a pretty good and fairly popular neighborhood bar and doing quite well so I was kind of surprised when I was looking it up to get the right location for this post to find that it has closed.
I guess like so many things times had changed, I wonder how long it will stay as it is in these shots before a new business takes over and changes its look

So, your Percy ended up dying too, sorry for your loss as well. Lucky we have camera's to document their lives with. When I see that type art work on businesses I always wonder how much they ended up paying for those pictures. It doesn't look to be lacking in detail and that takes time to create those scenes. I just have no idea on how those artists value their work. Do you have any idea on costs for something like this in your area?
I suspect this one was commissioned by Percy’s but I have no idea how much it would have cost
Nothing is ever cheap in NYC
Bristol, UK is another place to find great street art. Also the home of Banksy.
I have heard that Banks had a shop here I don’t know if it is still open I should check that out
You must. There was an exhibition in the museum in Bristol, people queued around the block every day.
I will check now 😎
I'm always drawn in and amazed by others peoples ability to create art like this.
I am as way they are so talented
beautiful kising in post,,i liked it very much, can you also check my post, dear
Great colourfull artwork!
It was so colorful that’s how it caught my eye from across the street
You certainly find the gems in NYC! What a neat way to decorate their shutters. Too bad it has closed! 😥
I thought it was pretty cool
I enjoyed my one visit there aboity indeed it closed
I find it so sad when restaurants and places have to close. :-(
Me to 😞
Oh I love some good graffiti and this is there doors to the tavern huh so cool
i really liked the look of it many would never know it was like this if they only visited when it was open
Cheers
Nice graffiti art, adds to the colors in a city full of concrete.
The images have been shot really well, thanks to your Sony(I have one too, an old Alpha!).
The young millennials may not have preferred an old Irish pub especially when there are newer, trance-techno music pubs round the corner everywhere.
I do love my Sony 😎
I remember reading a while back the older Irish and some sports bars are struggling these days times are a changing
Love the photos. Who ever did the art at the bar was very talented.
Thanks and yes I do agree the artist was talented
