Team South Africa - Cape Town Steemup 25th Feb '18!
This was the first time I went out to meet some fellow Steemians and I must say, what a great experience it was!
First of all, we had some cold beers, live music, pizza and plenty of good conversation to go with one of the greatest views around Cape Town :)
The Blue Peter is a popular little spot among the locals and travellers alike. Literally a stones throw away from the ocean with views of Table Mountain across the bay.
This pic I took a little while ago close to Blue Peter
We had plenty to talk about and I learned that @zakludik has been a writer since he's been 14 years old! I went and had a closer look at some of his content and I must admit, I was blown away. This guy has some talent and since I'm quite new to writing I'm sure there's plenty of knowledge I can gain from him.
He creates great detail within his writing and developed an entire world (referred to as worldbuilding) around his stories. Whether it be pulp fiction, novels or an entire series, if you're into fantasy and sci-fi be sure to go and check him out.
Unfortunately we didn't get to spend too much time with the guys from @dansfrikkiedans since they were too busy entertaining the Sunday crowds.
Sorry about GIF quality. I have no idea what happened there.
We did however get a chance to chat with them a bit and I'm sure they'll be hooking up with us on Discord so we can assist them on their new journey.
Since we both have young kids it was an ideal spot since they were able run and play around on the lawn while we could relax, chat and share our stories.

So, all in all it was a great day and an absolute pleasure to meet some outstanding guys from South Africa, Cape Town. I would recommend to anyone on the platform to get your asses out there and start getting some face to face interaction going. It helps to strengthen and build on existing relationships as well as afford you the opportunity to learn more about your fellow Steemians than what you see on the platform.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Cheers!
P.S. Zak, I asked you if you liked chillies in the Discord chat because I wanted to bring you some Habanero plants I grew... then I thought it might be a bit weird, so I left it. Next time around, if they're still alive and kicking, I'll bring some along. Now you know what that was about.

Reaped the benefits of quick meet-up at what looks to be a wonderful venue allowing the whole family to go with @therneau
Children will start younger than we did with online technology, soon they too will be going along not to play but to participate.
Have met online with @zakludik and look forward to meeting @dansfrikkiedans soon.
I couldn't agree more. My boy already wants to do Youtube video's so when I have some extra time available I might look at getting some Dtube vids going with him :)
Awesome! Great post man!
Yeah chillies are good for the food and great for the garden! I would love a plant or two. :D
Those hot little beasties grow pretty easily, I leave one or two in windowsill till dried out, crack them open into a small container with some manure (compost) mixed with soil and wait till they big enough to go into the garden.
Lovely display when they get bigger and awesome fresh for the pot or fresh sambals.
Sure thing man. Next time we meet I'll bring some along. Thanks for the comment :)
