RE: STEEMSTOCK 2017!!!! Starting to grow wings, but will it fly?

Put me down for interest in playing music at STEEMSTOCK.

I'm just brainstorming here in hopes of generating more ideas...

Burning Man is a very successful yearly artistic happening in Northern Nevada. The participants work hard through the months to make it all happen. Of course, STEEMSTOCK will design it's own festival, but we might borrow on some of Burning Man's principles. According to Wikipedia:

The event is described as an experiment in community and art, influenced by 10 main principles, including "radical" inclusion, self-reliance and self-expression, as well as community cooperation, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy and leaving no trace.

70,000 attended Burning Man in 2015

One interesting Burning Man concept is the use of regional groups (camps). These groups work together during the year creating regional events that mimic the main event on a smaller scale.

Since the Steemit community is global, it might be useful to have small local groups that can organize car pools, charter buses, planes etc. This might make attending STEEMSTOCK more economically feasible for the average minnow.

For example, having a camping option for STEEMSTOCK would lower costs significantly when you consider that a place to sleep is a major cost of traveling.

Another possibility is 50 people chartering a bus for $1000. That would be $20 per person each way. In addition, school buses can be chartered for $10 each way for 50 to 60 Steemians living within a few hundred miles of the STEEMSTOCK venue. If people are relatively frugal (e.g. eat at Subway and camp out) many could attend a 4 or 5 day STEEMSTOCK for way under $100.
