STEEMSTOCK 2017!!! (Continued) #2

in #steemstock8 years ago (edited)

From the last post this is what we have so far:

1) STEEMSTOCK will be at an outdoor venue somewhere on planet earth.

2) @darkflame suggested Canada where he knows of a few venues and is connected to the music festival scene. @richardcrill suggested Austin, Texas which is another great venue. I like them both.

3)@michaelstobiersk will play music at STEEMSTOCK and suggested that we use steemit talent for the music. @michaelstobiersk will have first pick at the time slot of his choice to play his music.

Please give more input and/or advice and let's make this happen!!!

FULL STEEM AHEAD!!!!!!!

Austin would be a great area weather-wise.

@richardcrill suggested Austin as well. That's 2 for Austin 2 for Canada. I think both are great options, I just want to pick the place that is most accessible for everyone.

Just seeing this now, good idea.

TX is likely a great idea but some people might not be able to handle it in the summer extreme heat, unless a lot of it is indoors, which costs a lot more money.

I am in Canada, so it is best for me if it is here, but I think best for everyone if maybe in the USA where most of the users seem to be.

Some areas of Canada are awful nice in the summers here though and can you imagine a big piece of land or a cabin on the land or the water here or near some mountains for a weekend rental or similar?

That would be awesome! @darkflame suggested Canada as well. What place in Canada would you suggest?

It depends on the time of year, and roughly where people are coming from for ease of transit and maybe where the bulk of people are located.

If you JUST get in before or after the peak summer/vacation seasons, like most places, you can save a ton of money.

If you combine that with going JUST outside the most popular places,. you save again on top.

For example going to the far Left Coast, Summers and the like in the Vancover and Whistler areas are awesome and dry. It rains the rest of the time.

But if you drive to some areas just outside those areas, you get a great retreat area, at likely 1/4 the price and price is always a factor along with weather and transit, air/car/ etc.

And same principle apply 3-5 hour drive north of my area, ie the GTA/Toronto areas -- ease of transit and head to the Muskoka Region on the water out of season.

Or drive another 1-2 hours N. Head to the Bancroft/Barry's Bay areas, -- even more savings being remote but on the water. There are even islands up that way and some areas with full winter access too.

American money coming into Canada usually as you know means the US dollar goes a lot further here --- and the opposite if Canadians go to the US,

It may work out best and cheapest for both sides of the border to consider these options.

Anyone from outside Canada/USA means they would not be quite as influenced by these factors being from across the pond anyways, assuming the North American area is next up for a gathering, given #SteemFest was in the UK areas months ago.

Maybe if we can get some @papa pepper support we can get the ball rolling.

I think Canada is the way to go. As far as access for everyone does Toronto have an international airport?

I could make Austin, TX, and maybe even do a few songs... just for fun.

That would be awesome!!!!!!
