Tardigrades are not insects, they're tardigrades, haha!
Their phylum is known as Tardigrada, whereas insects are an important portion of phylum Arthropoda :)

I have found some interesting information in quora, where apparently the tardigrades can survive just about everything, as lon as they have entered cryptobiosis state, where their skin is molted and its cells shut down their metabolism, protecting their DNA.
