Baldness cure hidden in McDonald's fries?

McDonald’s ,a multi-billion dollar company.

Highly controversial but still one of the most profitable organizations in the world.

You may not fancy their Big Macs and nuggets (even though I hardy doubt it) but what about their delicious french fries, especially when you dip them in the mayo or ketchup.Today,I will present you one more reason (as if you needed an extra) to eat McDonald’s fries. Especially, for those that have a few empty spots on their heads.

As odd as it may seem it is believed that the cure for baldness was found in the McDonald’s crispy crunches.Japanese scientists after attempting to regrown hair in mice discovered that within days the lab rodents had furry backs and scalps.

Dimethylpolysiloxane,is the main cause for this new groundbreaking therapy , as it is added to McDonald's fries to stop cooking oil from foaming.

The therapy has not yet been used on humans but it is highly believed that it would also work on people.

Professor Junji Fukuda, of Yokohama National University, said:

“This simple method is very robust and promising. We hope this technique will improve human hair regenerative therapy to treat hair loss such as androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness).”

According to the university study, the reason it worked was that it allowed oxygen to easily pass through the hair follicle germs, regenerating hair which exhibited the typical hair cycle of mouse hair.

By using this chemical they were able to create 5,000 HFGs at the same time.

Professor Fukuda tried to explain the system claiming he used a mix of mouse skin cells, mouse stem cells and human stem cells.

He added:

'We used oxygen-permeable dimethylpolysiloxane (PDMS) at the bottom of culture vessel, and it worked very well.We demonstrated that the integrity of the oxygen supply through the bottom of the silicone chip was crucial to enabling both HFG formation and subsequent hair shaft generation’’.
“Finally, spatially aligned HFGs on the chip were encapsulated into a hydrogel and simultaneously transplanted into the back skin of nude mice to preserve their intervening spaces, resulting in spatially aligned hair follicle generation. This simple HFG preparation approach is a promising strategy for improving current hair-regenerative medicine techniques.”

Billions of dollars are spent on hair loss treatments every year. Severe hair loss, resulting in the loss of hair at the top of the scalp predominately, is a serious problem that affects around 50% of all men and 25% of women by the age of 50.

Oh this is an encouraging new! I have to tell my grandparents this new !! But can that chemicals be found in other food as well ?

hahaha.. I am sure they will be really happy.Well,Dimethylpolysiloxane is used mainly for safety reasons.I guess if other food-chains face the same problem with McDonald's,then it might be possible.
