SUGAR AND IT’S HARMFUL HEALTH EFFECTS
Sugar is considered as one of the oldest ingredients in the world. The world sugar is coined from a Sanskirt word Shakara which is translated as substance in a granule form. The only taste humans are born craving is sugar.
However, we should all know that Sugar is as dangerous as it is sweet.
Here are some of the major ways that sugar harms our health;
(a) Sugar speeds up aging
It contributes to sagging skin. After consumption, sugar enters into the blood stream and sugar binds itself to proteins. And this new molecular structure causes the loss of skin elasticity and causes aging.
(b) Increased heart diseases
Excess consumption of sugar is capable of increasing the risk of heart diseases. Sugar is actually said to change the proteins in the muscle of the heart and also the mechanism of the hearth’s pump.
(c) Cancer Production
Excess consumption of sugar has been seen as a potential cause of cancer. Scientists have found out that large sugar consumption reduces the rates of survival in breast and colon cancer patients.
(d) Increased Uric Acid level
Sugar causes high uric acid level which causes hearth and kidney diseases. Uric acid level an even be used as a marker for the amount of fructose present in the body. The safest range of Uric acid level should be 3-5.5 mg/dcl.
(e) Sugar Impairs learning and Memory Skills
People who consume excess fructose produce a reduced amount of Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor which helps the brain in the process of learning and creation of memories.
