A long cultural tradition leads us to defecate sitting, but in Eastern countries it is common to squat, it may seem uncomfortable but in reality it is the best position considering our anatomy.

When we squat with our knees bent at a 90º angle and our feet touching the ground, the muscles in charge of helping us to "push" to release the stools are relaxed and the process becomes more efficient and faster.

A scientific investigation determined that people who use this position take less than half the time to defecate than those who sit in traditional toilets, also helps those who are constipated and even prevents the formation of hemorrhoids.

The defecation sitting on the toilet can seem more comfortable and less acrobatic than if we did squatting, but in countries like China and Japan there are a kind of toilets specially designed to adopt the correct position without leaving comfort aside.
