Emergence Of The Era Of 7D Hologram Technology

Like I have always said; technology is evolving at an astronomical rate. Not too long ago, we saw the 2D (2 dimensional) and the 3D (3 dimensional) technology. Just when the world was still recovering from 3D, the 4D (4 dimensional) hologram technology made its way out. But clearly, all these technologies should take a bow as the era of 7D (7 dimensional) hologram has arrived. Hail technology!!

Introduction

The term "hologram" was originally described as:

3D images which are created by light beams' interference and interaction from a laser or other coherent sources of light. (Source) Paraphrased by me

The emergence of 7D has clearly placed the above definition of hologram into obsolescence, as the term "3D" which was initially associated with hologram is about to go into oblivion.

This is because; there are whole lots of differences between the 3D and the 7D. The 3D only captures and records light field with three distinctive parameters, but 7D incorporates the following:

3 dimensional position or space + 2 dimensional angle + light perception (depth and intensity) + Time.

That is why it is possible to feel (literally touching) 7D holograms. Yes, you read right; advances have been made to create 7D holograms that you can touch.

Technologies incorporated into 7D holograms

Apart from that fact that the "touch perspective" has been added to make it more realistic; other technologies have been considered to further enhance this tech. The major contenders are:

• Digital Scent: Have you ever imagined going to a movie theatre in which every smell portrayed in the movie is transmitted in real-time to the audience? That is the idea behind the incorporation of digital scent into 7D hologram tech.

Note: The audiences won’t need to wear a digital nose to perceive the scent; it will be broadcast without the use of mechanical intervening medium.

• Responsive augmented reality: This is not just augmented reality, but the kind that will respond to user's interactions, and simulate the effects of the real world.

A time could come when holograms would be almost indistinguishable from the real world. It would be possible to project a hologram of yourself in different places at the same time. Imagine a teacher delivering lectures at two different places at the same time; sounds fascinating right?

Current and potential applications of 7D hologram technology

The applications are almost limitless, but I will just mention a few of them:

• In educational sector: Imagine attending lectures from the comfort of your home, with the virtual hologram of your lecturer projected to you. That is exactly what 7D hologram can do. Also, a virtual classroom can be simulated with a holographic projection of both students and lecturers, which would look exactly like the conventional classroom settings.
• In the homes and offices:  With the incorporation of "Internet of things", you could project any kind of simulations or images. For example; you could change the virtual wallpaper of your home with just the press of a button. This kind of tech could get so real that you could interact with people's holograms as if they are physically present. just like the movie "the flash"
• In gaming (advanced VR games)
• In the military: You could send in a holographic projection of a spy into the enemy camp.

7D hologram technology is set to change almost every aspect of our lives.
