Yeah, that's what I think too, a combination of various luminous phenomena. To fully understand what's happening in every case you need to consider a lot of factors, for example in Mexico it's the discharge lights, in another earthquake in Sichuan it was iridescent clouds. So, people can't jump to conclusions that easily.
