We all like dessert after our main meal. My favourite dessert is chocolate mousse.Dessert is a confectionery course that concludes a main meal. The course usually consists of sweet foods, and possibly a beverage such as dessert wine or liqueur, but may include coffee, cheeses, nuts, or other savory items. In some parts of the world, such as much of central and western Africa. We shall examine one of the components of dessert,sugar . We going to take a closer look at the sugar in the dessert and how it can affect us . According to the American Heart Association an average person consumes around 22 kilograms of sugar each year and because of this scientific studies tried to examine positive and negative effects of this popular substance. This research is more than the recommended 6 teaspoon of sugar per day for women and 6 teaspoon for men.
IMPORTANCE OF SUGAR IN THE HUMAN BODY
Sugars in their structure have ingredients that are passed to them from their natural sources, sugarcanes or beet. Phosphorus, calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium will not be greatly present in the industrially refined sugar so natural sugars should be taken more often in our body. Calorie content in sugar gives our body energy that we lack though the energy is short lived and needs to be taken often. Natural sugars like fruit, lactose, or milk sugar come in the form that benefit our diet however the sugar that is added during food processing or in desserts are detriment to our bodies
EFFECTS OF CONSUMING TOO MUCH SUGAR
Sugar overloads and damages your liver- the effects of taking too much sugar can be the same as that of alcohol. All the fructose you eat gets shuttled to the only organ that is the liver. This overloads the organ and may lead to potential liver damage. We better off without fructose in our bodies. We should do away with healthy sounding smoothies we drink we better of with natural sugars we find in fruits.
A PLoS study they found out that an extra 150 calories from sugar available from sugar per person each day diabetes prevalence rises by 1.1 %. We shouls make it a point to read the ingredients on each food labels content like ketchup, beef jerky, and bread
Sugar affects our heart- heart diseases and diabetes are closely linked. Heart diseases and stroke are numer one causes of people with type 2 diabetes, accounting for 65% of those deaths. We should stick to the American Heart association recommended sugar levels which are 6 teaspoons for women and 9 teaspoon for men and avoid too much bread .
Sugar in your bloodstream attaches to protein and to form harmful new molecules called advanced glycation end products, or AGEs. These unwanted invaders attack nearby proteins, damaging them, including protein fibers in collagen and elastin, the components that keep your skin firm and elastic. The result of too much sugar? Dry, brittle protein fibers that lead to wrinkles and saggy skin.There's more! AGEs promote the growth of fragile collagen and deactivate your body's natural antioxidant enzymes. This opens the door to more sun damage, which, as we all know, also damages and ages your skin.
Sugar is not not good for our stomach. It causes fermentation, and this clouds the brain and brings peevishness into disposition. Far much sugar is ordinarily used in food including cakes, sweet puddings, pastries, jellies, jams, are active causes of indigestion. Especially puddings in which milk, eggs, and sugar are the chief ingredients. I grew up knowing that milk and sugar should not be taken together but in most instances of desserts the two are also the main ingredient. Sugar affects the brain, our kids should be taught to deny themselves unnecessary things like candies, ice cream and other knickknacks and by so doing they can save money for themselves. An ideal thing would be for them to have a tin money were they will put money for later use.
In conclusion
We should by all means eat natural sugars in fruits that are without any artificial additives which may cause our lives to be short. Prevention is better than cure this sugars are the cause of unseen diseases that kills and there are without remedy.
