For most of my life I’ve also been fascinated by the notion of consciousness and get perplexed and frustrated that during what many mainstreamers believe to be the apparent pinnacle of human intelligence, we still are not placing the pursuit of understanding consciousness and the universe/multiverse at the very highest of priorities.
Instead, there is a vast waste of the intelligence of over 99% of our species’ potential wrapped up in economic slavery.

Our schools systems are set up for droll entrainment, rather than expanding human ingenuity and intelligence.

We reward those that accumulate profit of money by any means necessary, even at the degradation and destruction of our habitat and our fellow earthlings, rather than rewarding genuine breakthroughs in understanding life, our world and the universe.

Like always, everything you say here is spot-on :-) There's even research that proves your words: IQ's are dropping in the west. The so-called "civilized" world doesn't value important things, only material wealth, and it's only logical to see the negative effects of such a narrow-minded world-view... It's not a pretty picture, but one we're able to change hopefully for our children and their children. We owe them that.
