In Germany, the situation is that worse that almost no one of my friends will stay at the University or Institutions because after a few years you are unemployed, poor and doomed.

That sentiment is also over here in the Netherlands. :( But I heard it is worse in Germany because time dependencies for obtaining a permanent position.
