This is important stuff, my brother is a biologist and they monitor mortality of birds of prey. Wind turbines are a serious threat to the birds, especially those that are already endangered (large migratory birds of prey). Often the bird marked with GPS chip dies, and when they go to retrieve chip, guess what, it's right under the wind turbine. And the problem is mostly underreported because turbine technicians remove bird carcasses to avoid bad publicity. So I'm all for this technology, it cannot come soon enough.
