Andromeda galaxy - 1.5 billion pixels photo!!!

in #steemstem6 years ago (edited)

Scientists from NASA create an amazing image of the Andromeda galaxy. The Andromeda galaxy is also known under the names Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224. It's a spiral galaxy 2.5 milion light yares from Milky Way Galaxy.

Andromeda has a mass of 1.76 mass of our galaxy. It is also the largest galaxy of our group of galaxies (Local Group).  Hubble's telescope had to take 411 photos to make it possible to create the most accurate picture of the galaxy.

Downloading such a large number of photos on the computer would be very impractical. In connection with this, a special website was created where you can freely zoom in and out.

Watching this photograph is a great trip to a distant galaxy.  See for yourself and let me know in the comments whether you liked it.
