Usually not acute, the issues will manifest in a variety of ways, from resultant damage to kidneys and the liver.
The people selling colloidal silver just want your money. That's all. So they sell potentially harmful snake oil.
Silver does have antimicrobial properties, and if incorporated into compounds intended to prevent the release of the ions could be interesting therapeutically.
It's not the miracle cure you read about from shuksters on the internet. IMO
Damage to kidneys and liver... Yeah, it's not a good idea to damage those.
My guess about the sellers is that most of them don't know about the damage they can cause. That's why I asked our expert here on Steemit.

I don't consider my self an expert in all of this, at least not to the degree that I am in some specific subsections of protein functions. I rely on reputable publications for information as much as any scientist! Can't know it all :)
Impossible for any human to know it all.
But knowing where to find accurate information is an art form of experts.
