[Basic Concepts] - ¿You want to know what is the difference between electricity and magnetism? here
Electricity and magnetism:
Electricity and magnetism are closely related and are of great importance in physics.
- electricity for computers and make the engines work
- Magnetism makes a compass point north and makes our notes stick to the refrigerator.
Without electromagnetic radiation we would live in darkness, because light is one of its many manifestations!
Electricitye:
The word of origin comes from the Greek, whose meaning is amber. It is the set of phenomena related to the presence and flow of electric charges. It could manifest in a wide variety of phenomena such as lightning, static induction, electromagnetic or the flow of electrical current. It is the form of energy that has many modes of use, such as: lighting, transportation, heating, appliances, among others. In addition, electricity is manifested by various phenomena and physical properties.
- The Electric Current: a flow or displacement of electrically charged particles by a material conductor that is measured in amperes.
- Electric charge: is a property of some subatomic particles that determines the electromagnetic interaction. Electrically charged matter produces and is influenced by electromagnetic fields.
- Electric field: It is a type of electromagnetic field produced by an electric charge, although it is not moving. The electric field comes to produce a force in all other loads, the greater the distance between the two charges, the greater is.
- Electrical potential: It is the capacity of an electric field and it is measured in volts.
- Magnetism: It is the electric current that produces magnetic fields and the magnetic fields that change over time reach electric current.
Magnetism:
It is considered that magnetism is the first brother of electricity, some materials, like iron are attracted by magnets, while others like copper ignore their influence. The movement of objects influenced by magnets in terms of magnetic fields is described. It is known that magnets have north pole and pole, and that the poles are similar to each other, while the opposite poles attract each other.
Electricity and magnetism are two sides of a simple fundamental force. When a magnet is accelerated an electric current will be produced, if a flow of electricity occurs, a magnetic field is created. It is usually used in the construction of motors and generators.
Differences between Electricity and Magnetism:
- Electricity is a set of physical phenomena and magnetism is attracted by magnets.
- Electricity manifests itself in rays, static, while magnetism is described in the movement of objects.
