Speaking without words

Movement made by the face, head, arms, hands, and body can signal thoughts and feelings almost as clearly as spoken words.
These signals are called body language. When people are nervous they often fidget with their hands.

The distance between people who are talking to each other is important. If one person stands too close the other one may feel threatened and move away. Body language varies from place to place. For example in some countries left looking a person straight in the eye means that you are honest and truthful. In other countries it is regarded as bad manners.
