                                                      The Moon

Known as Luna by the Romans, and Selene and Artemis by the Greeks, this is our Moon, yes I took this picture while the Moon was full using my iPhone and a crappy Telescope this is my favorite picture of the Moon.  I absolutely Moon photography, and hope to achieve much higher quality photographs one day.

- This picture clearly captures the Moon in its glory, and many of its elements, such as Tycho, the Lunar crater on the southern end of the Moon.

- The Moon is roughly 384,500 km (238917 mi.) away from Earth, this means if you are traveling at 90 kph (56 mph) it would take 4,272 hours to reach the moon, that's 172 days of traveling and a lot of fuel.

- At 3.8 cm a year, the Moon is moving away from the Earth, after 10 million years the Moon will be 38 million cm away from the Earth this will change the orbit of the moon around the Earth.  After 50 billion years the Moon would be so far away from Earth it would take the Moon 47 days to Orbit the Earth as opposed to the 27.3 days its takes as of now.

Ever since I first started seeing the moon I've been impressed by it most especially when out for a midnight walk where there are no other people around
