RE: Day 1 using JCW Wastewater Optimizer at the lagoon.
So, the experiment is underway. How many days in? And what are you hoping will happen within the next 60 days? What would you expect to see before that to know that it's even working?
That stuff must be fairly strong if you're using two gallons a day on 150,000 gallons total coming in (plus whatever else is there). Is there some kind of dispersal system that's getting this JCW-MS out into all of the wastewater?
Today is day 2.
The manhole should clean up & and no more floating FOG scum.
I'm hoping for less algae in all 3 cells.
I should keep seeing (more) bubbles. That can be 2 things. Denitrification or gases being released from the sludge at the bottom as it becomes lighter and fluffier.
Both are good results.
I'm hoping to see less buildup in the corners and the island where the influent pipes come in.
Once we "shock" the system, we will drop down to 1-2 ppm. Parts per million. About equivalent to a drop or 2 in a bathtub full of water... That will be about 1 gallon per week.
Just the natural hydraulics will disperse it. Flow comes in, moves through the primary cell to cell 2. There are also natural currents that occur from heating and cooling of the water and wind action. Then we pump it to cell 3 as needed and once it's full, we pump to the creek.
