Past, Present, Future...

There are different types of people you meet in life and their pattern of thinking reflects in their lives and values. Be careful how you interact with each category of people because it may have significant impacts on your journey in life.

#People in the past
These are people who hold on to the past and never want to take decision concerning the present nor ready for the future. They will always remember how someone has wronged them in the past, always remember old tradition and stick to them. They are never advanced in thoughts and acts. They believe in past glories and never assess the risk of neglecting the future. These people are difficult to convince for change in any organization. They resist change. If you get stuck with people like this, they may kill your dreams.

#People for Now
These are people who believe in what’s happening now and have no business with the past nor the future. They want benefits for now and not for the future. They don’t want to bother about planning for the future and are often caught up in a web of mess. When things change drastically, they lose their values and relevance. These are people who will convince you that nothing can be better than now.

#People for the future
These are people who have travelled into the future in their minds and thoughts and aligned with what lies ahead. They sow seeds for the future. They work towards the future and for them, the best is always yet to come.

Many people get stuck in their jobs and life that the future never matter to them. I ask myself several questions everyday

1. Would I be relevant to people in the next 5-10 years?!
2. Would my income increase or decline in the next month, next year, next decade?
3. What would my state of health look like?

These make me think of what to do now. I encourage people to prepare for the future everyday. All it takes is just one disruption to make you lose your relevance and value (either at workplace or anywhere). What you hold on to as super-value today May become nothing tomorrow. Remember when Black Berry owners fill like millionaires inv Nigeria. Remember when Peugeot 504 was a car for some Governors...where are these today?!

Come from the future and drive away from the past! Learn something new everyday.

I always tell people that Artificial Intelligence will only create jobs for those who are ready for the future. But those who live in the past and the present stand to lose their jobs!
