At least in America sugars are added to everything because it's a chicken and egg sort of problem where the main source of sweetener is subsidized heavily so there's a lot of it produced, it's cheaper than actually flavoring food in proper ways with spices and so on, and Americans themselves like things abnormally sweet. If you get burgers, fries, and a drink at the biggest burger chain every single component has added sugar, even the fries.
I don't consider that ground beef.
