In a way the Egyptians knew the stars much better than us. The scientists today know a lot more, but anyone who lives in the city today never really sees the stars. great article, I could imagine walking through the sand at night navigating by the stars.
Yes, today when you wanna see the stars you have to visit the desert cities (oases) of Egypt. In Cairo for example - no chance. ;)
