RE: PRACTICAL THINKING. — Strategies for open, free, and transparent scientific publishing. It's the future of publishing. But how do you get the future earlier? Sooner rather than later?

I think Steem could have a role in improving scholarly communication. First, lot's of communication happens on centralized platforms like Twitter that should migrate to Steem. Steem also gives scientists an alternative funding mechanism at a time when funding is becoming increasingly difficult. Therefore, projects like Utopion and the future release of Smart Media Tokens are super exciting.

The main thing science needs is stronger incentives for researchers to be immediately open with their research. Through my actions of being completely open, I try to demonstrate how openness allows researchers to succeed. However, the norm in science continuous to be somewhat closed, but there's lot's of enthusiasm for change.
