Good day able and loyal steemians, is quite a while i post because of been busy ,i will love to share some tips (discussion) on the Nervous system

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF NERVOUS SYSTEM

This is the most important system of all; it is important because it tells the rest of the body what to do and how to work
together . You might be asking yourself where is the Nervous system? The digestive system is mostly in one part of the body; the skeleton is easy to find , though we have bones in every limb but the nervous system is different from these .

one part called the nervous system , is all in one place inside the skull and the spine , but the nerves themselves are everywhere in the body ,Every part of the body has some ,they are there to feel things and tell us what they are like ,they tell us about hot and cold things ,painful things and so on ,The nerves that carry these messages to brain are called sensory nerves while other nerves are there to carry message to the muscles and tell them when to work They are called motor nerves.

imagine how quickly those messages have to go if you step on a hot cinder or pin,your foot tells your spinal cord and a message rushes down to your thigh muscle to the foot "This is called reflex action".

THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

The Brain: when we feel or hear or see or smell or taste things, it means that a message has reached the brain,such messages are dealt with by the cerebrum

usually we want to do something as a result of what we have noticed; to turn our eyes in the direction where we saw something move ; to answer what we have heard;to swallow what tastes good,or spit out what tastes bad. These decisions and the orders to muscles are the work of the cerebrum.

The Cerebellum also looks after the muscles.it makes them work together so that we walk straight and do not fall over when we kick a ball.

The third part of the brain is the Medulla: it sends messages to the heart, lungs and digestive system to keep them working.

also note this that a slight damage to the cerebrum may cause blindnes or deafness or weakness of muscles .Damage to cerebellum causes bad balancing and Damage to Medulla causes death.

The Spinal Cord: This is like a continuation of the medulla.it runs down the back, surrounded by the bony arch of the spinal column. it consists mostly of nerves which come out of it and run into it between every pair of bones in the spine. But it can also make the simple decisions which are called reflex action.

Special Sense organs : Almost any part of our body can percive feeling,but our finger cannot tell whether it is light or dark or whether the baby next door is crying. All the nerves of sight, hearing, taste, smell and feeling are sometimes called the "five sense".
There are some nerves in our muscles which tell our brain how heavy the things are which they are lifting.This is called Muscle sense.

The Eyes: Each of the two nerves for sight Spreads itself out in the back of the eye; it forms the retina which can tell when light falls upon it. In front of it there is a lens which causes the light which passes through to take the shape of the things in front of us.

The lens and retina are held together and protected by strong and dark coats which make the eye into a ball.These coats have to be transparent in front, where they are called the cornea. They are loosely attached to the lids.The eye ball is full of clear water, some of which is so thick as to be more like jelly. it is protected by the lids and eyelashes, The thing which makes different people's eyes different colours is called The "Iris" which also change its shape , so as to allow more light to get into the eye in a half-light and to stop too much bright light from getting into the eye.
the opening in the middle of the iris is called The "pupil"

THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

At the time of puberty, that is about 12-14 years, these parts begin to develop such as hairs in ampits and around the private parts, the boys's voice braks and the girl's breast enlarge. i will advice parents and teachers should tell their children about these things. it is quite right for the child to be curious,Before a agirl starts menstruating she should be told what it means. Menstruation follows the preparation of the womb for embryo; it should occur monthly and consist of few days bleeding from the birth canal;if the embryo is fertilized,it staus in the womb and grow ,there will be no more bleeding till after the child's birth ten months later.if the menstral period is irregular or painful this should be reported to the doctor.

Boys Similarly should understand the passing of semen.This produced in the testicles which are in a bag called the Scrotum. it passes by the same route in the penis through which the urine passes at varying intervals throughout life.The function of semen is to fertilize the embryo in the mother's womb.without this contribution from the father, the embryo cannot grow into a baby or as i say conception cannot occur
