It is mind blowing to realize that in just one and a quarter century humanity developed technology that replaced horse powered carriages with ultra sophisticated cars responding to voice commands and driven by an onboard computer (an autopilot system).

As memory could serve me, i recall some years back when conveying firewoods and farm products was done on heads and shoulders, means of transportation was on carmel and horses back. Internal combustion engines comes in different variation and its dependent on variable such as fuel used. For internal combustion engine that uses petrol, a spark ignition design is required and for engines that uses diesel, a compression ignition design is required

Engineering as a form of art

At this stage the basic requirements for a working automobile has been assembled together to solve the problem of transportation.
As time passed by, engineering designs then needed a touch of art and creativeness in its quest to achieve better standards. In truth, it become more of both its packaging and specifications.

Artificial intelligence in automobile has lead to the effective implementation of certain engineering requirements, such as cleaner emissions using the Exhaust Gas recirculation(EGR) Sensor, temperature regulation using the temperature sensor etc

It can be said that the future of automobiles will focus on those with low and zero emission, which is a return to the beginning of transportation (e.g. horse powered chariots), only this time with much (many) more horse power.
