Oil dependence is frightening to say the least. Why bank so much against a resource that remains non-renewable? Granted, solar, wind, hydro-electric, even geothermal aren’t enough to offset the lack of fossil fuels but humanity is known for not taking action until it reaches a precipice. Why deal with it now when the generations of the future. Our children’s children can worry about it then. What we do now works. That’s all that matters in the public’s eye. Thanks for sharing.
I think that is the typical attitude of policy makers. Companies only worry about the next quarter and politicians only worry about the next election. This time horizon is too far away for them to really care.
