Everything i learned in college science is wrong.
Not just a little wrong, completely wrong.

Fortunately, engineering doesn't really rely on scientific explanations, it just works with what works.

But, we could have gone much further if we had accurate explanations of why the universe does certain things.

The next part is that science of the universe is really very simplex.
There are six universal forces. Then there is the geometry which governs their interactions.

The sciences quickly run out.

Of the questions How and Why, why is the hard one.

How was JFK killed? That is quite easy to determine. There is enough photos and other corroborating evidence to show what happened, when and buy whom.

What we will probably never know is why.

Would you believe that JFK was killed because 4 years later he would reveal to the world that there were aliens, and that would cause a breakdown of too many people's psychies which caused a world wide catastrophic collapse?

Compared to that question, which bullet went where is easy peasy.

Understanding our place in the universe is the most important question. And one that has to be analyzed, looked at, judged, reworked and studied by each person.

Therefor, the study of the field of studying that question is of great importance to humanity.

However, the destructiveness of nihilism which has seeped into every science has turned all of these studies to mush.
And thus, many of @kriacos ' statements are correct. That these soft sciences are not leading to anything helpful to humanity. It is not because they are soft sciences, it is because we are dealing with a dead end philosophy.
