Take off, destination - International Space Station
Yesterday 3 astronauts made headlines by heading out of this world on their way to the international space station. The flight time to the ISS (International Space Station) is scheduled to take 2 days.
The astronauts blasted off at 1:23 p.m. (0723 GMT; 2:23 a.m. EST) at Russia's manned mission launch center in Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The three astronaut entering orbit include Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, U.S. astronaut Scott Tingle and Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai.
Anton Shkaplerov, Scott Tingle and Norishige Kanai's capsule is due to dock with the ISS on Tuesday where they will be meeting with Alexander Misurkin, Joe Acaba and Mark Vandde Hei.
This is the last scheduled manned launch of 2017.
