Galileo is correct in a vacuum, but Aristotle's arguments were the dominant view for longer (I think 2000 years or so) and are correct if the heavier object is larger and dropped in air which is usually the case. I wonder if Galileo will be most correct for 2000 years or if someone will have a better idea by then.
