Hello everyone, If you love math, physics, or chemistry while studying in secondary school, chances are you'll enjoy learning and working in engineering. Engineering is a rich field of employment choice, ranging from working as a chemical engineer, civil engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, to shipping engineer.

The toughest challenge in engineering is the demand to have a high intellectual level with a good science background. However, with this challenge, engineering remains a prestigious field of work and is in great demand by most people.

Below are five qualities you should look for if you are interested in pursuing a career in engineering.

1. Inventiveness

Engineers will be asked to be someone who is innovative and inventive. For example we can see from Steve Jobs that continues to innovate through Apple's product features, or Larry Page who first invented search engine technology. To be a good engineer, you should be able to apply your technical knowledge and combine it with your creativity, so your product or system can solve problems in a more efficient way.

2. Logical

The science studied by an engineer is an exact science that requires logical thinking and good mathematical skills. To solve this problem, an engineer will solve the problem into smaller components to find the best solution. Therefore, if you want a career as an engineer, you must have good critical thinking skills.

3. Task-oriented

Unlike the work in the field of humanities, what an engineer needs is the ability of mathematics and analytical thinking, because an engineer will focus more on the design of products, systems, machines, or buildings rather than interactions with clients. Therefore, more people are task-oriented than those classified as people-oriented. In addition, to register as an engineer, your science skills are an important component that will be tested by the company.

4. A Bit of A Perfectionist

An engineer's main job is to design a product or system to make our activities easier and more efficient. Therefore, engineers are generally personal perfectionists and are always trying to make designs better than they already are. It is the nature of a great engineer to always try to achieve the best. This can be seen from the solution they serve, or in the form of the product itself.

5. Concentration

To solve the problem as a whole, an engineer will typically require a high level of concentration over a long period of time, either an industrial engineer in focusing to create a more efficient system for the company, or a car engineer who analyzes the components of a vehicle. If you want a career in this field, you should be able to concentrate intact either while working independently or while working with a team.
