Are you on the list of the top 100 most followed Steemit accounts? What changed since yesterday?
I wanted to run this script again, and see how much had changed since yesterday. The script takes about 6 hours to run, so keep in mind, some of this data is already outdated. It also may not match your follower count since, I think, the steemit code does some additional filtering out of low reputaton accounts. I started processing the data at 6:30pm CST, and finished around 12:30am CST.

Didn't make the cut, but a lot of my friends did! Congrats, and see you guys up there soon. :)
You're at 258:
Holla! lol
does anyone here remember vera lynn? apparently 44ppl do.
gotta ask is that your real name? or did you pick the handle because of the actress or the song?
Are you suggesting people follow Vera because of name association and not because of the quality and value of her content?
Would you approve if I made similar suggestions about your 31 followers?
haha well theyre certainly not following me because i make any sense... tbh i was kind of surprised to see 31 followers when they started showing that, i would have assumed much less.
I love this!
Stats are really interesting. I'm not tech savvy enough to get into fishing these stats out of the system but if you ever have an idea where you want someone to do up an infographic I might be able to lend a hand (Depending on my real world work load..and that's a big if unfortunately...)
I'm a graphic designer and quite enjoy putting together info-graphics. It's a thought...

Very cool! Thanks for the offer. I'll keep it in mind.
Some great information here.
Isn't it surprising that the number of accounts with at least one post is less than half of the total number of accounts? Taking into consideration the number of bots that post means a lot less active people than I had imagined.
Still the figures are going up which is excellent. Thanks for this, I love stats.
You're welcome!
How many of those are people and how many are bots?
On another note do these stats take into account that following someone also gives you alerts from the people they follow? No need to follow them directly. I've only followed 2 or 3 people directly.
A lot of. There are bots even with posts. @donaldtrump is @steemed's bot, i am almost sure, but there are posts, one even with 1000+ reward.
And There are Huge bot-owners, like @nyt (149+ found bots) and even GIANT bot-owners like @angel (668 found bots). And it is only top of iceberg, everyone could look at here on blockchain frontend called steemit.com If You look at blockchain itself - there are a lot of very interesting information about early adopters and their real piece in steemit.
Is there a way to reliably find which accounts are bots and which ones aren't?
I can not to say with 100% guarante, but, look at accounts, for example @vitol, @shell, @glencore, @ford, @ethereum, @sex, almost all of them have no one post\comment\reward and withdrawed Steem to @steemed. They are bots with one aim - to be sold. And there are accounts, owners of wich are invisible for me. @unix for example costs 34000$+, @microsoft 69000$+
Ah, interesting. Account name squatters. Will be quite interesting to see how this developers. Seems we should start tracking this stuff now while the network is still small... but at the same time many value their privacy and don't want their identity known. I have mixed feelings about that since this is a "social" network after all.
really cool post @lukestokes
Thank you!
Well I didn't make it in that buch haha....
You're some where around 271:
Ah thanks for letting me know !
Hi :))
Thanks @lukestokes. It's interesting to find @dollarvigilante at the top of the list and @corbettreport moving up so quickly. Maybe this indicates a shift from seeing what the whales are doing to reading content created by people who know how to engage a reader. I first came across @lukestokes when you posted about foxycart.com. Where do you find the time? Anyway I am glad you did.
I've been missing out on sleep lately, that's for sure. :)
To me, the high follower counts of the new arrivals indicate they are bringing in their large following to the platform and their followers appreciate the significance of this experiment. All of them are supporters of cryptocurrency, freedom, and free speech, so it's a natural fit, in my mind. We're still the crazy early adopters. Time will tell if the other categories and mommy bloggers of world find their way here as well.
