Who Can Floyd Fight in The UFC? | The Perfect Matchup

Looking through the UFC featherweight rankings becomes a debacle when deciding who would be perfect to welcome Floyd to the UFC...if he ever comes at all. The truth is boxing and mixed martial arts are such mixed bags that even the most novice of mma fighters would give Floyd all he could handle.
Champions from lower divisions may be worth a shot, we all know that Floyd can make 140 and possibly find a catch weight with a fighter who moves between the 125 and 135 pound divisions in the UFC. There would have to be an immense size discrepancy to prevent damage from kicks and take downs.
Floyd would need to work wrestling and jiu jitsu as much as he has worked his hands, mixed martial arts is a sport of dedication and many skills, champions are jacks of all trades when it comes to fighting, there are no one dimensional fighters in the world able to hold a UFC belt in this era.
A super fight with Demetrious Johnson would actually be incredibly interesting posing the size difference Floyd would impose, DJ probably does not fear the power of Floyd with his somewhat brittle hands, so it would simply be a matter of footwork and maneuvering around Money's slick jab.
Any bantamweight in the UFC could land a leg kick or takedown on the legendary boxer and transition into a submission with ease. The lack of ground ability Floyd has would make him a fish in shark tank...and this is an absolute truth. Floyd would have the fastest hands in the organization, but that may not be enough.
To be frank, I think the perfect matchup would be Mighty Mouse. Floyd would have the size, and arguably the strength on the smaller man. The handspeed may get Mighty Mouse out of there, but the chances are more likely that the smaller man takes Floyd down and submits him....in retrospect, Floyd won't ever fight in the UFC, he can't take the loss.

Nobody..I don't think there's a chance that Floyd fight in the UFC ever. Stephen A Smith reported that someone on Floyd's team denied the reports. He was simply saying he could go fight in the UFC and make a billion if he wanted to, not that he had any interest in doing so. Although, I once never thought that Mcgregor Mayweather fight would happen and here we are now lol. Nice article, thanks for sharing @steemsports

It's always fun to daydream, but we gotta remember that Floyd is over 40 years old. MMA takes years to learn all you need to know to compete.

40 years is enough for Floyd to have the tactics to defeat them. Experience also plays an important role here and Floyd knows how to get through tough situations with his maturity and knowledge of the game. #OWB

A fight between Mayweather and Sergio Pettis who is currently ranked as the number 4 flyweight on the official UFC rankings may be a perfect match up. Pettis has been a fantastic fighter this year and he is known for his decent style of fighting from a distance . I may not be able to say who the winner will be but it is going to be an interesting bout. #OWB

I think it's a bad attempt to make more money than it already has, Floyd is one if not the best pound for pound boxing but the UFC is something else too different with the combination of styles, I think it's something to give that speak greetings

Floyd doesn't stand a chance in the octagon with anyone currently fighting in the UFC. Much different style of fighting and very ignorant of him to even mention it. "TMT" stirring the pot as always!
It's near impossible to find him an opponent that would make the match competitive.
They would have to find a fighter with absolutely no grappling capabilities or kicking game!
And a fight with mighty mouse would be the best thing to ever happen to mighty mouse. No weight cut. Biggest pay day :)

Nate Diaz. Diaz is a ninja on the ground, but he rarely takes the fight there. I'm sure you could get him to make a gentlemans agreements or sign a contract to not take the fight to the ground. Just have a boxing match in the cage.
