It’s another week of player transfers in the European Summer Transfer window. We briefly take a close look, and four completed transfer deals between August 14th and August 16th.

Sofiane Feghouli (Winger) from West Ham to Galatasaray for £3.87m

Source

(A decent signing) A World Cup star for the Algerian national side, having scored their first goal in a World Cup match against Belgium in the 2014 World Cup, after 28 years. Initially touted to make it big in the premier league, he arrived West Ham with a lot of promise, after signing from Spanish side Valencia. He couldn’t hit the heights though in England and managed only 4 goals in 27 games for West Ham after just one season. A move to Galatasaray could prove to be a necessary kick to revive his career.

Gareth Barry (Midfielder) from Everton to West Brom

Source

(A good signing) An ever-reliable midfield stalwart, fearless and tireless on the field of play. At 36 yrs., his football legs are probably leaving him, but if his work rate for Everton during pre-season is anything to go by, then a decent number of games with high-performance can still be expected from the ex-Manchester City, midfield honcho. He’s poised to break the premier league appearance record of 632 set by Ryan Giggs, having amassed 628, himself. With the season just beginning, he would definitely get more than 5 games under his belt in no time, to set a new premier league appearance record.

Jese Rodriguez (Forward) from Paris St-Germain to Stoke

(A brilliant signing) A young and hungry forward who hasn’t had the best of times and looking to turn the corner, since leaving Madrid for PSG. An energetic and pacy forward in his days at Madrid where he managed 13 goals in 63 games in a team boasting of world-class players. Joining PSG saw his game time drop, resulting in just 1 goal in 14 games and ultimately leading to a loan move to Las Palmas for the rest of last season. A summer move to Stoke would prove highly productive if he can get lots of game time, and show the qualities that once made him a darling of the Madrid fans.

Joselu (Forward) from Stoke to Newcastle for £5m

Source

(A decent signing) A traveling man who has played in Spain, Germany, and England, and is still at a good age of 27yrs. He would be a great addition to a Newcastle side that seems short on top quality upfront. Joselu had a season long experience in the premier league after joining Stoke City from German side Hannover 96 but ended up being loaned to Deportivo La Coruna of Spain where he scored 6 goals in 24 games. If his potentials can be exploited by his Spanish Manager, Rafael Benitez, at Newcastle United, then perhaps this season, we could finally be seeing the brilliant talent who once represented Spain at U-21 level.

Which of these players is likely to be a key-player and make an immediate impact for his team? Drop your comments.
