This match-up pairs the 70s legend vs. a child of the millennium. Floyd Jr. really got his start once he was able to show his technical prowess on the pro circuit in the late 90s. Showing out and finishing the likes of Genaro Hernandez and a very solid veteran in Angel Manfredy showed that Floyd was a true phenomenon.
Floyd like his fantasy opponent in Ray Leonard was an Olympian, and although he left with a bronze medal, his bout is still observed as an absolute robbery. Both men are in essence gold medal caliber fighters, and that is what elevates this dream match-up to a completely different level.

'Sugar' was the rising star who fought the true best of his era. Ray never ducked any top contenders, and when he cleaned his division out, he moved up and fought the super star middleweights of his era. Sugar would have to fight Floyd at 147 pounds, a weight both men have found great success in.
This would be all out offense vs. supreme defense, the hips and footwork of Sugar vs. the gritty shoulder roll and right hand counter of 'Money'. I would assume this would actually be 'Pretty Boy' Floyd as that is when he was at the height of his abilities, and he was arguably the best 140 pounder of all time.

Sugar Ray did fight out and train for 15 round fights, this means his cardio would be in check, and he could surely throw at a volume not seen by anyone of this era. Floyd's impeccable defense would surely be tested, and at 147 pounds Sugar could definitely deliver a knockout blow.
To be perfectly frank, as much as I love Sugar Ray...and as many advantages in height, strength and power that he may possess, I would still have to choose Floyd to win this one. Future generation boxers are much more developed in their energy expenditure, and Floyd is also a highly intelligent fighter who makes no mistakes. Patience is a virtue in this match-up...Floyd by decision.

I respect Floyd for all the success he had but have never been a fan of him. I would back Leonard to beat Floyd, as you say it would be about supreme offence against supreme defence and Leonard would eventually break through.

It would be a boxing match I'd love to watch that's for sure.

Thank you for the awesome comment!
