Dillian Whyte vs. Lucas Browne: A Breakdown

Two cruiserweights turned heavyweights in Whyte and Browne take center stage this coming Saturday and in essence will eliminate one another from the invisible tournament created from the modern day heavyweight hype. Whyte is the more sophisticated boxer in the ring...

...but Browne is the much harder puncher and arguably sturdier veteran. The undefeated 25-0 Australian is the Inter-Continental champion, his title not so much has a place in history as it does its job in holding a contnder's place in line for the real belts... the green and red ones.

The IBF and WBC belts will soon by unified hopefully with a bout between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, with those heavyweights in the mix, Tyson Fury may also need a tune up bout and both Whyte and Browne can take the spot as Tyson's opponent.

It will be a very interesting style match up with Browne being a much heavier hitter with more weight and less movement. Whyte seems much slimmer for his role in this bout, and we can assume his movement both laterally and backward will be much more improved.

We know that both of these men have solid chins, and enough stamina to land the knockout blow even very late into the fight (as we had seen Browne do with Chaghaev). It will be interesting to see what Browne looks like after all the doping charges being now behind him.

The build up has been quite hilarious and taut, but now both of these big men have twelve rounds to back up the months of stare downs and somewhat unbridled aggression. May the best man win, and I'm actually feeling the puncher over the boxer... Browne has a good shot!
