Breaking News: Jimmy Butler Traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves

I am here to report some huge trade news tonight at the NBA draft! Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls was just traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves and reunites with his former head coach Tom Thibodeau who has been trying to trade for him for two whole years.
The Timberwolves gave up Kris Dunn, Zach Lavine, and the number seven pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, Lauri Markkanen out of the University of Arizona, for Butler. Ironically, Butler was rumored to have turned down a trade to Cleveland earlier this week which would have put him with Lebron and Kyrie. I still think Kris Dunn has STAR Power and have watched him since his days at Providence.
Bulls fans have mixed emotions as Jimmy Butler was drafted by the franchise. He was an over achiever that neared MVP level. He is a local kid that had a great career at Marquette and seemed to love living in Chicago.
What Does this Trade Prove?
- Coach Tom Thibodeau desperately wanted Jimmy Butler
- Jimmy Butler had little respect for Coach Fred Hoiberg
- Jimmy Butler didn't want to jump ship to play with Lebron. Very interesting.
This is a win-win for both Minnesota and Chicago. Minnesota is ready to make a run now and Chicago needs a FULL REBUILD. As always, time will tell but I think both teams and all the players involved made out well. Keep your eye open for a breakout year from Kris Dunn playing for Chicago and look out for the Minnesota Timberwolves making a lot of noise in the Western Conference. Cheers!

Typical Bulls mgmt move....they know how to decimate the team every 2-3 years
Hence Hinkie's tanking philosophy. Better to tank and acquire assets than be a bubble playoff team. Can't win without a core of stars anymore.

Better than "decimating the team every 2-3 years". Not saying the process will work, but having Embiid, Simmons, Fultz, and Saric as your core? That doesn't sound too bad to me.

I don't see any reason why at least two of those four could be all-stars. If you could guarantee a healthy Embiid who plays 55+ games a year, there's no reason that team shouldn't be in the playoffs. So much young talent on that team.
I agree they have done that since MJ. But they were going no where next year with an ELDERLY Wade and Butler. Rondo will most likely be cut next week. They have nothing. Time to fully rebuild.
So frustrating as a Bulls fan....you knew the Wade thing wasn't going to work....how can I know that and they don't?

Wade was basically brought there to be a "coach" to Butler and Rondo, which didn't seem to work that way
I only thought because Wade is from Chicago and maybe it was a dream of his to play for his home town before he retires.....either way they have to restart again.
The only worse trade would be the Knicks getting rid of Porzingis.
Porzingis is a Top 10 player under 25 and if the Knicks dump him at all, Phil Jackson needs to be fired!

Jimmy Butler is in the driver seat going to Minnesota it's a new start it's a new team I believe he is going to do well in Minnesota you need to get out of Chicago going to get rid of Dwyane Wade by his contract out to try to rebuild In Chicago Jimmy Butler at the moment is in Europe.
The more I think about this move, the more I like it for the Timberwolves. As much as I want to say they're going to contend, it really just doesn't matter with the Warriors.
