NHL Fantasy Picks 1/5/2018

We are back with another edition of NHL Fantasy Tonight! There is a slate of 5 games and here are our picks!

John Taveres C 8700. The Islanders have lost 5 in a row! That being said today they are a favorite against a Penguins team who has lost 4 of their last 5. The Penguins are simply out of form right now. This sets up well for Tavares who is still producing despite the team's poor recent form. Tavares floor is just too hard to deny, always shows up against the Penguins. The bad news of course is expect high ownership.

Brent Burns D 7100. It's the battle of the leagues top defenseman Karlsson vs. Burns. Can't wait to watch this one tonight! Expect Burns to bring his top game and we know what that means. 31 minutes in his last and 5 assists in the 6 games! It is safe to say Burns is back into form. Burns is another guy on this slate that has a floor too hard to shy away from.

Henrik Zetterberg C 6200. Hendrik has been putting up consistent numbers in the Wings recent road trip. Don't look now but the Red Wings have been winning hockey games, that is a good sign for the captain. We always get low ownership on Zetterberg, I am diving in with both hands.

Jonathan Toews C 6400. Toews have been scoreching hot on the recent road trip. He started off flat from being transitioned to the 1st power play unit. We all knew he would get comfortable at some point, and it looks like he is peaking now. 2 goalies and 2 assists in the past 2 games. A string of games with with 4 and 5 shot opportunities. Play with confidence.

Adam Lowry C 3600. The Jets are healthy favorites against a Saber team that can't get a win to save their life on the road this year. While most will pile up on the Jets front lines, not me I am going to take a shot on some upside from the deeper lines. Lowry has been upgraded to the power play units recently. He is getting ice time approaching the 20 minute mark. A goal and 2 assists in the last 3. At this 3600 price tag I can't see any downside here.
