Moving on into the middle in the month of November of the 2016-2017 NHL season, SteemSports is at it again bringing you another non-divisional matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning VS the New York Islanders.

Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been solid playoff contenders for quite a few years now making it past the second round last year beating the New York Islanders in the process but falling short to the current Stanley Cup champions the Pittsburgh Penguins. They have lost a few big name players in the last couple of years but still remain a strong team with solid all-around scores for their forwards, defense, and goaltending.
Their 2015-2016 record was 46-31-5 with 97 points; they finished 2nd in the Atlantic Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season is 8-5-1 with 17 points, they currently sit in 3rd in the Atlantic Division and 8th overall.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have had and still do have some truly amazingly point scorers. The top of their list being, S.Stamkos (with 64 points last year), N.Kucherov (with 66 points last year), and V.Hedman (with 47 points last year).
The Tampa Bay Lightning is a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. Established in 1992, it is a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tampa Bay has one Stanley Cup championship in their history, in 2003–04.[3] The team is often referred to as the Bolts, and the nickname is used on the current third jersey. The Lightning plays home games in the Amalie Arena in Tampa.
The owner of the Lightning is Jeffrey Vinik while Steve Yzerman serves as general manager. The team is currently coached by Jon Cooper, who has led the team since 2013.
So Far This Season
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been doing pretty decent this year being off to the start they have had. They lost to the Florida Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Nov the 7th but more recently in their last game against the Islanders, won by a dominating score of 4-1. In their most recent game against San Jose, they lost by a score of 3-1, so I'm sure they'll be looking for a win. All in all the Lightning are off to a decently positive start to their season.
Injuries To Report
Tampa Bay is short Jonathon Drouin at the moment but it is day-to-day, and it is said that he may be rejoining the team for the upcoming road trip which would put him in the lineup against the Islanders.
New York Islanders
The New York Islanders had one of their best seasons they had in 25 years last year. They played in an exceptionally hard division with both the Penguins and the Capitals and still they managed to make it into the playoffs. They've been struggling this year, and the team they're going up against this Monday night just happens to be the Tampa Bay Lightning. The same team who destroyed them previously twice this season as well as bumping them out of the playoffs last year in a mere five games. I'm sure New York is very hungry for a win against this team, but will they be able to pull it off?
Their 2015-2016 record was 45-27-10, with 100 points. They finished 4th in the Metropolitan Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season is 5-7-2 sitting with 12 points putting them in 7th in their Metropolitan Division and 25th overall.
The New York Islanders were being lead in points last season by J. Tavares (with 70 points last year), A.Ladd (with 46 points last year), and B. Nelson (with 40 points last year).
The New York Islanders are an American professional ice hockey team based in New York City that competes in the National Hockey League (NHL). They are a member of the league's Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at the Barclays Center, located in the borough of Brooklyn. The Islanders are one of three NHL franchises in the New York metropolitan area, along with the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers, and their primary geographic fan base resides on Long Island.
The team was founded in 1972 as part of the NHL's maneuvers to keep a team from rival league World Hockey Association (WHA) out of the newly built Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in suburban Uniondale, New York. After two years of building up the team's roster, they found almost instant success by securing fourteen straight playoff berths starting with their third season. The Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cup championships between 1980 and 1983, the seventh of eight dynasties recognized by the NHL in its history. Their 19 consecutive playoff series wins between 1980 and 1984 is a feat that remains unparalleled in the history of professional sports.
So Far This Season
The New York Islanders were beaten in their last game against the Florida Panthers, it was relatively close with a score of 3-2 going in overtime. They did however lose quite badly in their game before that which happened to be against Tampa Bay by a score of 4-2, to be fair they did pull off a win over the now declining Vancouver Canucks by a score of 4-2 before that giving them a much needed 2 points.
Injuries To Report
The New York Islanders will be short two defencemen with Travis Hamonic and Ryan Pulock out on Injured Reserve, they'll also be down a center in Mikhail Grabovski as well.

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Vote Percentage Requirements : Players with less than 100 000 Steem Power (SP) are required to vote main post with at least 50% and players with more than 100 000 SP are required to vote main with at least 10%.
Comments may then be voted with any percentage, but we do encourage all players to vote main and comment with as much power as possible to help distribute SP and create employment for writers and editors.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
In the event of a draw/tie and such vote option was omitted by @steemsports for any reason, the game will result in all players being paid out regardless of which draw/tied outcome voted.
