Silver: The people’s money

SOURCE
Gold has always held the reputation as the metal of kings, but silver has a diferent story. For centuries, silver was the true money of everyday people. From Roman denari to the British shilling(of which i have many), from Spanish pieces of eight to the US silver dollar, it was silver that changed hands in markets, taverns, and farms. Gold sat in vaults and was used for great transactions, but silver was in the pockets of common folk — it was money that lived and breathed in daily life.
That history is part of what makes silver so compelling to stack today. It connects us to a legacy of trade and value that stretches back thousands of years. Long before digital money, banknotes, or credit cards, people trusted silver because it was tangible, recognisable, and universally accepted. Even when empires collapsed or currencies failed, silver retained purchasing power. A silver coin might not have looked shiny after years of use, but it still bought bread, beer, or shelter. That reliability is something fiat money can never replicate.
I often think about this when im stacking. While gold might be the ultimate store of wealth, silver feels accessible — it’s the metal that bridges the gap between history and practicality. An ounce of silver is affordable for almost anyone, and yet it holds within it the same timeless properties that allowed generations before us to survive, trade, and prosper. In today’s world, where inflation eats away at savings and trust in institutions is shaky, silver once again feels like the money of the people.
Love this.
Silver’s history as everyday money really makes it feel timeless and valuable.

Silver has alsways been used for money. Gold is the store of value, silver used for money. We were "forced" to forget this some time after 1914, when the US Fed reserve was created, and worthless paper took over. Then Tricky Dicky (temporarily) taking the US of th3 gold standard in '71 was the final nail in the coffin. Fiat will crash, its a mathematical certainty!! Just a matter of when, and not if...
