Its still a very tiny percentage of people who see the risks, and of those an even smaller percentage intend to make any sort of preparation. I think they think that if its not all ok they don't care as everyone will be in the same position. However the moment they see the opportunity they'll jump in greedily with both hands, probably when its too late.
think you are right, very little people (want to) know, but maybe that is exactly what we need to prepare ourselves better!
That is what i am afraid of when SHTF. These people will display irrational exuberance, effectively becoming a pest.
